WRAP launched a £2 million capital funding competition at the mixed plastics London event on 17 June 2009

WRAP held a very well attended mixed plastics dissemination event in London for over 200 delegates. The focus of the event was to bring together the whole supply chain for mixed plastics packaging - sharing the results of the latest research conducted on behalf of WRAP into the technical and economic feasibility of collecting, recycling and reprocessing this element of the waste stream.  Attendees included local authorities, waste management companies, retailers and brands amongst others. Therre was considerable interest in the subject of residual mixed plastics once segregation of higher quality materials has taken place. Indeed there was clear regonition that integrated solutions to the problem need to be developed. This provides a strong opportunity for new technologies such as PIM to be part of the integrated solution. More info on the event and presentations is at the WRAP web site.
