Environment Minister calls for public and private sectors to 'work together' on waste
There are challenges ahead in waste management, but these can 'open the door'
to a £10bn investment opportunity for the private sector according to
Environment Minister Elliot Morley.
Speaking at Defra's 'Investment Opportunities: Municipal Waste and PFI'
conference in London today, Mr Morley said considerable progress had been made,
but greater investment would be required in order to meet international
obligations through the EU Landfill Directive.
